The finalists for the Best Businesswomen Awards 2026 have been announced, recognising an exceptional group of female entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals who are making a significant impact across the UK.

Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, rapid technological change and evolving ways of working, this year's finalists have demonstrated outstanding resilience, innovation and determination. They have embraced new opportunities, overcome challenges and continued to grow successful businesses while leading with purpose, creativity and vision.

The judging panel praised the exceptional quality of entries received across all categories, highlighting the remarkable achievements of women who are not only delivering commercial success but also creating positive change within their industries, communities and the wider economy. Now in their 12th year, The Best Businesswomen Awards were established to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women across all industries. These awards celebrate the achievements of women who are not only building successful businesses but also breaking down barriers, creating impact, and inspiring others to follow.

Hull technology leader Therisa Thompson, Chief Commercial Officer and CEO Designate at Keyzo has been named in the Best Female Leader (Employed) category. Therisa joined Keyzo in 2017 and has progressed through several senior leadership roles, and now heads up the Keyzo division. Over the past two years she has led the transformation, significantly growing the team, introducing a clear commercial strategy and product roadmap and positioning the business for significant future growth.

Keyzo develops workforce safety, compliance and training software that helps organisations manage inductions, competency and workforce compliance across high-risk industries. Its platforms are used by organisations in more than 140 countries.

Commenting on the announcement, Therisa said: "I'm incredibly honoured to be named a finalist in the Best Female Leader category. I genuinely see it as recognition of the incredible progress we've made together as a team. Over the past two years we've transformed the Keyzo division, built an exceptional team, created an ambitious roadmap for the future and laid the foundations for long-term growth. I'm genuinely proud of every member of the Keyzo team and grateful for the opportunity to lead such talented people. Whatever happens on awards night, reaching the national finals is something we can all be proud of."

The finalists will come together at the Best Businesswomen Awards Gala Final in October in Daventry, chosen for its central UK location, where gold and silver winners will be announced across a wide range of business categories. This event will be celebrating excellence, innovation and leadership in women-led businesses throughout the UK.
